Gradient Technology’s 17,000 ft2 fabrication facility houses a wide variety of steel fabricating equipment and is supported by experienced fabricators, welders, and integrators. Our co-located engineers work with fabrication facility personnel to transition their designs into prototypes, pilot plants, machines, and large-scale systems. Our fabrication facility allows us to construct custom pilot plants and production equipment that is specifically designed to test unique process and production requirements.
Fabrication Capabilities—Gradient Technology’s fabrication facility houses a press brake, shear, band saw, roller, punch press, mill, lathe, and a variety of welders (MIG and TIG). We also have a CNC high-pressure waterjet table for precision cutting. Our fabrication facility is fully equipped to provide high quality mechanical and chemical processing equipment and employs fabricators with over 30 years of fabricating and welding experience.
Panel Building— Our controls engineers and technicians provide electrical and control panel specification, design, and assembly expertise. These panels are assembled in accordance with the UL 508 standard for industrial control equipment.
Gradient Technology has complete in-house capability to design, procure, fabricate, integrate, program, test, and operate industrial control systems. Over the past 20 years, Gradient Technology has developed numerous control systems and fabricated UL 508-compliant industrial control panels. Gradient Technology has extensive experience in specifying appropriate hardware, software, control strategies, instruments, sensors, motor control equipment including frequency drives, servo motor control hardware, as well as electrical and control hardware for hazardous locations. Gradient Technology has designed and implemented industrial control systems ranging from complex supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems to simpler programmable logic controller (PLC)-based machine control systems. All control systems are designed according to NEC and other applicable codes.
Gradient Technology utilizes Siemens PCS7 and TIA Portal software and Allen Bradley RSLogix and FactoryTalk for control system configuration, hardware commissioning and communication, programming, and human-machine interface (HMI) implementation. These software tools allow for complete industrial control system development and change control.
Our engineers and fabricators can design and fabricate custom equipment and vessels that meet customer requirements. Gradient Technology has designed and fabricated vessels ranging from small fermentation vessels to large storage tanks. This equipment can be fabricated from carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys including Hastelloy and Inconel. Our fabricated equipment can be polished, painted, and/or insulated depending on the needs of the customer. We also have experience designing and providing pressure vessels compliant with ASME pressure vessel codes. Third-party pressure vessel fabrication shops are used for providing stamped vessels.
Integration of custom equipment and vessels into pilot plants or modular equipment packages is also readily accomplished in our fabrication facility. Gradient Technology can provide custom turnkey systems that are fully integrated with sensors, instruments, and any other control hardware. These systems can also be tested for the customer prior to delivery.
Our engineers and fabricators routinely design and fabricate piping networks and equipment structures. Flanged and sanitary-style piping networks are commonly employed in the equipment packages we provide to customers. The piping networks are properly integrated into systems with appropriate support and insulation. Gradient Technology’s engineers can specify pipe sizes, pumps, manual valves, control valves, instruments, and other inline equipment for our fabricators to integrate into system piping networks.
When transportation or site constraints impact the design of a system, Gradient Technology can creatively design systems to optimally use the available footprint. As a result, compact and/or modular structures can be designed that do not prohibit required maintenance activities. In addition, Gradient Technology designs staircases, ladders, and railings in accordance with OSHA and industry standards.
