This week we had the opportunity to talk to some of tomorrow’s leaders as it was 4-H Day at the Oklahoma Capitol on Wednesday.  Listen to them describe why they were at the Capitol and what they have planned for the future.

Mother Nature and the farm economy have dealt farmers and ranchers a tough hand. Many are finding themselves facing financial ruin. Mike Mayberry, director of the Oklahoma Ag Mediation Program, explains how he can help.

The weather is creating huge challenges for farmers and ranchers in the High Plains this week.  Is is spring, summer or winter? On this week’s show we talk to several farmers, including one who has just returned from a tour of the northern High Plains hit hard by snow and flooding.

On this week’s show we reflect on the recent record-setting Oklahoma Youth Expo. We talk with AFR President Scott Blubaugh, and contestants Cooper Shebester, Jentry Squires and Peyton Burns.

On this week’s show we report from the world’s largest youth livestock show…the Oklahoma Youth Expo with over 7,000 students participating. State and federal lawmakers viewed the show up close on Tuesday as they participated in a special showmanship contest. We also add a word about sending aid to the hard hit Nebraska farmers and ranchers.

 

On this week’s show we talk with Lakesha Hawkins, AFR Women’s Cooperative Council, about the blood drive honoring AFR leader Randy Gilbert at OYE on Saturday. We also talk with Micaela Danker, AFR youth development coordinator, about the AFR Ag Achievement contest at OYE. The deadline for students to participate is Friday (March 15).
